NET-BIOME is a regional ERA-NET project presented by a consortium of 11 partners, representing regional or territorial bodies from the 5 Member States concerned by European tropical overseas territories that finance and/or manage research activities in the selected thematic fields:

- France: the 4 outermost regions (Guadeloupe archipelago, Martinique, French Guiana, La Réunion) and two overseas territories (New Caledonia and French Polynesia);
- Netherlands: the independently governed Dutch Overseas Territory of Netherlands Antilles made of two island groups (Leeward Group - Bonaire near Venezuela; Winward Group - Saba, St. Eustatius and part of St. Martin);
- Portugal: the two outermost regions of Azores and Madeira archipelagos;
- Spain: the outermost region of Canary Islands;
- United Kingdom: the 9 independently governed UK Overseas Territories (Cayman Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, Montserrat, Ascension Island, St. Helena, British Indian Ocean Territory and the Pitcairn Islands groups).
